Yeah, where I work we call it the torture chamber. In fact, we don't even HAVE one at the hospital where I work. We simply have the parents hold the child while they lie down on the table, usually no crying involved. Parker SCREAMED. I tried talking them out of it first thing, even explaining that I do this for a living, but they claimed the doctors there insisted on it. Whatever. We Did it.
Good news from all of this is that Parker does not have pneumonia, just a severe upper respiratory infection. His medicine will be ready at 4 and my dad is picking it up from the pharmacy for us. He has acted a lot better since we got home, even venturing from my lap once or twice to bring me a book or toy for us to play with. I have to assume this means we will sleep tonight.. but who knows, that is just what keeps me going at this moment. Two days without sleep can make mommy go a little bonkers haha
we had to put my son in one of these on thanksgiving night after a trip to the ER. needless to say i cried. it broke my heart to see him in there and he freaked out the whole time. poor little babies
