So not only for my weight loss, but for the health of Parker and I, we've started buying food that is GOOD for you! I watched Dr. Oz the other day and he had a lot of tips for this, but not only did he give you a list of items to get, he told you how to buy all of your groceries for one week for...$40.00. Not even kidding!
Okay, so maybe it was more like $85.00 when it came down to it, since I had to get Parker some different kinds of food, but I don't think that's bad at all. We bought all whole grains, lots of produce, lean ground beef and ground turkey, yogurt, and I got some Lean Cuisine meals for when I'm at work.
Tonight we made Chili with the ground turkey and it was great! I was surprised at how good it tasted, I think I actually might prefer it to ground beef! Anyways, this is not a diet it is a complete lifestyle change for us, I want Parker to group up eating the right kinds of food and actually liking them!
I also got my Biggest Loser CardioMax workout video so I'll be starting that on Monday. Ideally I'd like to do it 5 days a week, while Parker is napping, but we will see how it goes! I have my friend Bethany , who is also in this journey so we are going to try to motivate each other, and meet for walks in the park once it is warmer. I have less than 5 months until I am in Florida, so that's pretty good motivation in itself!
What do you do to stay healthy and fit?

we have also switched what we eat. i buy a lot more whole grain vs the white flour stuff. i also make a lot of food at home vs buying it and them adding chemicals to it. in the summers my fellow moms and i, walk in the park too.
ReplyDeleteHeather, I too have finally come to the conclusion that I have to change my lifestyle and not keep trying to diet and I fail, repeatedly! So, I went to the grocery yesterday and chose good, healthy things...turkey, chicken, fruits and vegetables, yogurt...So, here's to us in 2011!~
