On the mend!

Looks like my baby boy is on the mend! We went to Dr. Bleichner today and she hooked us up! She was worried he might have pneumonia because of the sounds she heard in the apices of his lungs, so she ordered a chest xray. Downstairs we went so that my little man could get radiated. I know, I deal with radiation everyday, but it doesn't bother me as much when it is someone else's child. I think know that Doctors order way too many xrays on children (and adults) to cover their own butts. But in our situation, it was necessary. So we go into the xray room and guess what! They have the pigg-o-stat set up. Oh My. Most people don't even know what that is. I will show you what a child looks like in one... courtesy of Topics in Radiography

Yeah, where I work we call it the torture chamber. In fact, we don't even HAVE one at the hospital where I work. We simply have the parents hold the child while they lie down on the table, usually no crying involved. Parker SCREAMED. I tried talking them out of it first thing, even explaining that I do this for a living, but they claimed the doctors there insisted on it. Whatever. We Did it.

Good news from all of this is that Parker does not have pneumonia, just a severe upper respiratory infection. His medicine will be ready at 4 and my dad is picking it up from the pharmacy for us. He has acted a lot better since we got home, even venturing from my lap once or twice to bring me a book or toy for us to play with. I have to assume this means we will sleep tonight.. but who knows, that is just what keeps me going at this moment. Two days without sleep can make mommy go a little bonkers haha
